ESL Courses

ICA - [English] Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC) 
Government-funded and free for students. There is currently a 6 month waiting list.

VIRCS - Beginner & intermediate English classes 
Offered daily, as well as evening conversation club. Classes vary so please call for more information.

This site provides downloadable pdfs for basic Arabic language learning. Enable yourself to speak with your new family. Includes 50 basic phrases and audio for pronunciation.

Google Translate
A good tool to help you communicate with your families with a variety of language options. Do be careful as sometimes the context, idioms and slang of language is not captured. There is a large propensity to be misunderstood. However, it is a good tool for basic word translation.
